As girl gangs inspire us and shake up fashion lines, Who’s Next is inviting girl groups to the heart of their January 2017 edition: with a selection of exclusive brands and pop-up stores, guest influencers, a music programme, a unique scenography…

Here is the Q&A by Nouvelle Vogue, the
#girlsquad of the opening party on Jan 20th at #wsn17!

img_9968-2Name, age, city?
Jane Morineau, 20 years old, Paris
Alice Colagrande, 24 years old, Paris
Kimber Lay, 21 years old, Paris
Annabelle Deumié, 25 years old, Paris
Jill Carre-Gattegno, 26 years old, Paris

How was your #girlsquad created?
Jane: I met Alice a year ago and we got on really well. We thought to set up this project we needed more than two people. So we called on our super girlfriends! And now there are around ten of us.
Alice: At a party! I met Jane in a queue for the club Concrete and the other girls at a techno party! Our styles have brought us together as well as our passion for music! There’s a very underground fashion side to Nouvelle Vague.
Jill: All of us love to dance, dress and chat! We each have our own sector of creativity, but all our inspirations give birth to this incredible project!

What is your profession?
Jane: I primarily do casting, I’m a model. I was a Community Manager in a photography agency, then Office Manager in a co-working area.
Alice: I have been a stylist since I was 17 years old. I’m a hairdresser, makeup artist and Artistic Director. We have a touch on everything, especially our generation.
Kim: I followed an artistic education, but I dedicate my time to travelling. I like to change my environment and discover new horizons and different cultures.
Annabelle: Personal fashion photo and video clip projects and Nouvelle Vogue.
Jill: I work at Pigalle studios, a Parisian clothing brand for men. I have also worked for Saint-Laurent.

What does a #girlsquad mean to you?
Jane: It’s a group of girls that you won’t forget! They command the room, mean serious business, are sexy, intelligent… Each one with their own style, but come together as one. We tell and help each other with everything, it’s a group of cops.
Alice: A #girlsquad is all about women before men, who share the same knickers, we lend each other clothes for months and never ask for anything in return, we take showers together and we know each other inside out. A #girlsquad is a gang of connected women who share the same values, ethics, even if they are super different. We are never competitive or jealous!
Annabelle: It’s the power and authenticity that can bring together a group of girls! Eclectic and swag are the key words.
Jill: It’s above all an attitude! We are strong, determined, positive and sexy!

What is the origin of your group’s name?
Nouvelle Vogue, referencing Vogue magazine and the New Wave (Nouvelle Vague).
Annabelle: It’s such a new wave of freshness in the fashion world, sprinkled with a touch of irony against the ever-present luxury.

15325236_1330016567070326_5851370362478514309_oWhat is your favorite place in Paris?
Jane: In terms of going out I often go to underground places such as Champ Libre; a party place like never before, to be practically naked, listening to loud techno at midnight and where people don’t judge!
Alice: Yeah! Long live leather and latex!
Kim: The workshop gallery tampographe Sardon, which does superbe stamps full of humour!
Annabelle: My 25m2, a shipyard and rue Sainte-Anne.
Jill: The museums. I can’t decide between the Pompidou Centre, the Palais de Tokyo, IMA or the Louis Vuitton Foundation.

What is your biggest dream?
Jane: To have made enough money by the age of 40 in order to buy myself a lovely property in Paris, unprepared and go and travel for the rest of my life with my husband and kids. A real family of hippies. I would love that.
Kim: To be able to be in two places at once.
Annabelle: To live in Kyoto.
Jill: To have my own brand as well as my #girlsquad. I would love to open a ‘concept studio’ for young artists, stylists, photographers, musicians and chefs so that everyone can share and learn from one another.
